Residentials

Residentials

Over the years, Nicol Mere has organised a whole host of residential visits to many different places. Residentials take place in Y4, Y5 & Y6 and have most recently included Hinning House, The Anderton Centre and PGL.

Residentials provide fantastic opportunities for you to learn new things in a different environment, gain some independence from home as well as develop further social skills. They also build self-confidence, problem solving & cooperation skills, plus give a greater awareness of safety & risk. The children always have a great time & often cite residentials as one of their favourite memories from their time at Nicol Mere.

Hinning House/Brathay Hall/Anderton Centre - Y4

The Y4 children visit an outdoor education site each year, usually in the Spring term. The children stay overnight and enjoy two or three days worth of amazing activities such as orienteering, map reading, forest games and waterfall scrambling .

PGL

PGL is the residential visit that is offered to our Y6 children (with some additional places for Y5). PGL is based in Shropshire; the children enjoy four days of fun and stay overnight. Activities include: abseiling, quad biking, zip wire, fencing, archery and raft building - to name just a few!
